THE MOUNT'S FINEST REPRESENTS NZ IN GLOBAL AWARDS

By NZHJ February 27, 2018 Industry news

Mount Maunganui design studio and store Paper Plane represents New Zealand at this year's IHA Global Innovation Awards (gia).

The gia program was created by the International Home + Housewares Show (being held in Chicago next month!) and International Housewares Association (IHA) to foster innovation and excellence in home and housewares retailing throughout the world.

This year's national gia winners of 2017-2018 include Mount Maunganui's Paper Plane, along with 26 other outstanding home and housewares retailers from countries around the globe.

At Paper Plane , the staff is the slightest bit mad about design.

Created by spatial designer, Krista Plews, and furniture designer, Timothy John, their goal is to design, collaborate and curate quality lifestyle goods with a clear function and a point of difference.

The store is constantly evolving as the principals explore their own creative interests and discover unique artisans – from locally hand-crafted ceramics and leather goods to traditionally made European knives and brushware.

NZ Hardware Journal will be in Chicago next month to find out how Paper Plane fared and to bring you a report on the famous International Home + Housewares Show.
