A brand new Kiwi foundation insulation product called MagRoc InsulFound was used in the 9 Star Homestar rated houses at Church Square, Christchurch that were featured on TV recently. Designed and manufactured in Christchurch, MagRoc InsulFound is permanent insulating formwork for foundations. It creates a thermal barrier that is said to reduce heat loss through the side of foundations by up to 90%, which in turn makes a home warmer, drier, and healthier. It will also reduce heat loss where in-floor heating is part of the house design. There are 4 InsulFound solutions, including a retrofit option for existing buildings, plus custom profiles which can be made on request.
