Following a couple of stories in the Australian media earlier today, Bunnings Australia has officially revealed that November will see the launch of an online marketplace to be known as MarketLink, possibly in time for Black Friday this year.
Adding a far broader range of home and lifestyle products to Bunnings' current Australian mix, the online platform is open to retailers and manufacturers which have qualified for its Trusted Sellers Program and will obviously take advantage of Bunnings' website which is the third most visited shopping and classified site in Australia.
Bunnings ANZ Managing Director, Mike Schneider, says Marketlink has received "a very positive response from sellers" and already has 8,000+ products ready for launch in November.
The new product categories available on Marketlink will include indoor furniture, white goods and kitchen appliances, home entertainment, kitchenware and homeware from well-known brands not currently available in Bunnings stores.
Although unwilling as yet to reveal which brands and suppliers are currently signed up, Mike Schneider will say the MarketLink offering will comprise "a highly curated range of products that extends and complements our in-store range".
It's reported elsewhere that the fulfillment of products ordered through MarketLink will be the responsibility of the retailers and suppliers.
