Unconnected to Total Tools’ recent conference in Queenstown, the Australian large format hand & power tool vendor nevertheless definitely has its eyes on securing some New Zealand franchises.

Now an AU$365 million business, Total Tools was established over 25 years ago. According to the Franchise NZ website: “Following its success in Australia [where it now has 60 stores nationally] it is now expanding its network of stores in NZ and has exclusive ‘Tier 1’ territories available. Training included, strong marketing, operations, IT and merchandising support.”

With the low end a 1,200m2 footprint, the Total Tools package comprises: full ongoing support in all areas from site selection to new store establishment; strong buying power; up to 10,000 product lines in-store (with access to over 60,000 lines); merchandising and layout support; operational support and business information systems; inclusion in all national marketing activities; no marketing fees; shared knowledge from existing store owners; and 2.5% monthly royalty fees.

The areas available are in Auckland (Albany, Henderson, Mt Wellington, East Tamaki, Manukau and St Lukes), Hamilton, Hastings-Napier, Tauranga, Wellington (Lower Hutt, Rongatai), Christchurch (Hornby) and Dunedin.
